Crossing Guard Position Cut

The Kewaunee School District has been notified that the City of Kewaunee will no longer provide crossing

guards at the intersection of Center Street and First Street. This cut became effective January 1, 2012. Crossing guards will remain available at the intersections of Center Street and Third Street, and LincolnStreet and Third Street. We are asking parents to remind their students toalways look both ways when crossing streets especially when adult guards are not there to assist them. We are also asking all drivers to please use caution at all times and at all intersections when students are walking to and from school.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST AND SALE

This spring the Kewaunee Grade School (grades 4k-5) will be holding a T-shirt sale. The students in grades k-5 are holding a contest to create the design for the Tshirt. The

T-shirt design has to include the KGS rules of Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Do Your Best. Once the winner is selected, the design will be used as a screen for printing the Tshirts from Quali-T. The T-shirt price will be $7.00 per shirt.

PreKindergarten registration for 2012-2013 will take place the week of February 27 - March 2 between 9:00 AM & 2:00 PM.

"Tundra Tales"" Sheets were passed out to promote reading in grades 4-K though 5. If you read for 60 minutes (or are read to) a week for 8 weeks, students will earn either tickets to the Packer Hall of Fame or coupons for Curley's Pub for ice cream.
