Superintendent Bill Prijic

Dear Community Member,

I am Bill Prijic, the new interim Superintendent of the Kewaunee School District.  I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the youth, parents and community in a school district of this caliber.

Prior to coming here, I served the past three years as Superintendent of the Hortonville Area School District.  Prior to that, I was an administrator in the Shawano-Gresham School District for 22 years, serving 15 as Principal and seven years as Assistant Superintendent.  My wife Debbie and I are the proud parents of three grown children, and the even more proud grandparents of two grandchildren.

As interim Superintendent I will lead the school district through June 30, 2011.  With the resignation of your former Superintendent so late in the summer, your Board of Education made the good decision to conduct a comprehensive search for a permanent Superintendent.  As time would not allow for this type of process this summer, the Board judiciously decided to conduct their search in late fall/early winter, ensuring the deepest talent pool of potential superintendent candidates.

As an experienced Superintendent, I will do everything possible to keep this excellent school district moving forward.  One of the exciting opportunities I will provide the Kewaunee School District is the development of a “Strategic Plan.”  This plan will provide a strong direction for district planning and innovation over the next three to five years.  I will lay the groundwork for the new Superintendent to hit the ground running next July.

The Strategic Plan will also serve as a lighthouse to guide the Board of Education as they make important fiscal, educational programming and student service decisions now and in future years.  In future issues of this newsletter I will provide you additional information, seek your input, and offer you the opportunity to become involved in this strategic planning process.
